Kogi State Base Musician and song writer Name Abdulraheem Yunoosa a.k.a (Yunique Ori) is originally from kogi State(Okene) in the northern part of Nigeria, where he completed both his primary and secondary school education and obtained both his First School Leaving Certificate and West African Senior School Certificate. His style of rapping was based on Ebira English and Pidgin English. In 2012 Won for Best Rapper in Kogi state, Album of the Year at the Nigerian Entertainment, which has hit single like ”Agaada Pim Pim(APP)”.
In 2018, he also won the award for Best Rap Album at the Hip Hop World Awards for his popular album “Ehinebi Rap” with hit single like “Na Lie”.
Yunique has worked with several top Nigerian artists such as Destiny Boy, 2Tboys, HajjCiroma, Itabriz, KhingJahJah, MiCkey Joe, MK Malik, 2rich, Emburg Asuku.
He has been associated with several top music producers like 2Tboys, GoddyKeys, TY, Terry Y, Sjay, LilEm, Mstar, kuddyKent, TezBeat.
“Okene” has some cultural significance, it talks about the life style of people living in several region of Kogi State, Lokoja, Ebira, Okun, igara, kabba, Ogori, Koton Karfi, and many other parts of Kogi state which is located at the northern part of Nigeria, where life in the slums mixes up with life in the affluent cities and parts of Kogi state Nigeria. His songs touch upon ethnicity and pride, while surviving the streets of Okene/Kogi state and a hint of criticism elderly people hurls against bad behavior.
Most of his music video proudly displays young people in their twenties and early thirties proudly displaying their tribal marks in retrospect of the old Ebira and Kogi state.
Yunique is one the beneficiary of Gov. Alh. Adoza Bello of youth empowerment(car, house, and money. He is one of the richest and most influential artist and hip hop rapper in Kogi State.
